Privacy policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Foldo is built to work on your computer, not in the cloud. This page explains exactly what leaves your PC and why. In short: your files never do.
Your files and folders
Coloring folders, the assistant and the organizer run entirely on your PC. To decide where things go, the organizer reads file names, dates and some metadata (such as a photo's capture date or the text of a PDF) locally. None of that is sent anywhere. There is no account, no analytics and no telemetry in the app.
When Foldo connects to the internet
- License activation and validation. When you activate Foldo Pro, and occasionally afterwards to confirm the license, the app sends your license key, an anonymous machine identifier (a one-way hash, not your hardware serial) and your computer's name to our license server and to Lemon Squeezy. This is used only to verify your purchase and limit it to one computer.
- Cover photo search. If you search for cover photos, the words you type are sent to Openverse (openverse.org) to find openly licensed images.
- Buying. The “Buy” button opens Lemon Squeezy's checkout in your browser.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. They collect your name, email, billing details and payment information under their own privacy policy; we never see your card details. We receive your email and order details to deliver your license and give support.
Error logs
If Foldo hits an error, it writes a log file on your PC. It is never sent automatically; you decide whether to send it to us when asking for help.

Your rights and contact
You can ask us what data we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by writing to support@perxal.com. Deleting your purchase records may prevent us from supporting your license.
